Founding of Green Mechanics
Founding of Green Mechanics
Established with the mission to deliver science-driven, community-centered environmental solutions, Green Mechanics began as a team of 5 cofounders passionate about tackling stormwater challenges, restoring ecosystems, and advancing sustainability. From its first projects in Maryland to partnerships with universities, nonprofits, and government agencies, the company was built on the belief that nature-based solutions blend innovation, ecological health, and community engagement.

2019 - Present: Greenbelt Forest Preserve Exclosure Deer Study – Ongoing monitoring of forest health and tree regeneration; engaged community volunteers and University of Maryland in protecting local ecosystems.

2020: TCG Property Care Partnerships – Restored stream banks in Glen Arden, MD with 2,700+ seedlings & 2,600+ live stakes; installed hundreds of plants in school bioretention systems.
2020: Green Compass LLC – Led outreach that secured a $75K grant, expanding green infrastructure engagement with charter schools, places of worship, and private enterprises.
2021: DC Green Infrastructure Monitoring – Implemented DC’s first comprehensive monitoring program for public green infrastructure.
2021 - 2024: National Lakes Trust Partnership – Began collaboration to manage and improve environmental stewardship across three municipal golf courses in Washington, DC.

2023: Bladensburg Waterfront Park – Installed a 45 m² Algal Turf Scrubber® (ATS™) to manage stormwater at a 1.5-acre impervious community park.
2023: Clean Rivers DC – Developed infrastructure retaining over 30,000 gallons of stormwater annually; executed nutrient credit trades benefiting local businesses.
